The Wellow Literary Institute has been at the heart of the local community since 1894, originally established to teach reading and writing to both children and adults—hence its name.

Following a major refurbishment in the late 1980s, the Institute has served for over 40 years as a vibrant community hub. It hosts a wide range of social and educational events, public and private meetings, and is available for private hire for groups of up to 70 people. It is the largest community hall in the Parish.

A Hall for All

The Institute is a registered non-profit charity with membership open to everyone. All funds are reinvested into maintaining the hall as a community asset and keeping costs low for all users.

Membership Benefits

While everyone is welcome to attend events or book the hall, members enjoy:

  • Discounted admission to paid events
  • Lower rates for hall hire
